Accident News

NORWALK, CA (July 16, 2023) – Three people were killed and three others were arrested for DUI after a multi-vehicle collision on the I-5 early Sunday morning.

Just after 2 a.m., the driver of a 2017 Honda, Clarence Hill, was driving northbound on Interstate 5 when he crashed into a barrier and became disabled on the freeway. A tow truck driver for Hadley’s, identified as Oscar Sosa, pulled over to help Hill – that’s when he was struck by a 2011 Kia being driven by Hector Rivero.

An unidentified woman, 32, who was a passenger in Rivero’s car was killed. Immediately thereafter, another vehicle – a 2016 Toyota being driven by Luis Marroquin – crashed into the tow truck. Two unidentified male passengers in the Toyota were pronounced dead following the collision.

Rivero and Marroquin were transported to a local medical center for their injuries, but were later arrested for felony DUI. Hill was arrested at the scene for misdemeanor DUI. The condition of Sosa, the tow truck driver, was not made clear.
